My Story

All of my life, I have relied on my Christian faith for courage and wisdom. I have faced my share of tough obstacles, and I’ve worked hard to overcome them. I know this was only possible through God’s mercy and His grace. I have been a member of the Republican Party since 1998. I am for life, family, free enterprise and personal freedom.  I grew up attending Bethabara Baptist Church and currently am a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. 

I was born and raised in East Daviess County on a crop and dairy farm. My earliest memories include working the fields during planting and harvest, tending to the garden, caring for my animals, and completing my daily chores. I remember snapping beans on the front porch alongside my mom and grandmother, where I learned many lessons on the value of hard work and what it takes to succeed.

My education began at Philpot Elementary School. After graduating from DCHS, I attended Western Kentucky University, Brescia, and OCTC. In 1986, when I decided to enter real estate, I completed hundreds of hours of specialized education to become a certified appraiser, real estate agent and finally as a broker of my own company.

The lessons I learned about hard work, tenacity, and courage helped me get through six years as a single, self-employed mother. I’m proud to say I learned how to handle and overcome some of the toughest times in my life. I raised my daughter who has become a friend to many all over the world and is a successful international business entrepreneur. This is one of my life’s proudest accomplishments.

I have more than 35 years of experience running multiple small businesses. This experience has made me a candidate who understands the importance of being business friendly. I will rely on my experience, and will be open to new and different ways to help our county succeed.
